Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha has been granted N100 million bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Friday after he was charged for suspected money laundry.
Mompha who has been in custody of EFCC since he was arrested in on October 19 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja has now been granted bail by the court.
The Instagram celebrity and self acclaimed Bureau de Change had initially dragged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) to court over alleged unlawful detention and a violation of his rights.
In the suit Mompha led before the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere, Mompha he demanded N5 million against the antigraft agency, EFCC for putting him in detention beyond the constitutionally-allowed period without being charged to court.
He prayed the court to set him free if the EFCC is not ready to charge him to court.
Mompha was arraigned on a 14 counts charge bordering on cyber fraud and money laundering, Daily Post reported.
