Tervishima Simon Peter: Final year sociology student Of Benue State University killed by rival cultists

A sociology student of Benue State University died a painful death during a cult clash yesterday.

A final year student at Benue State University, Makurdi studying Sociology, has been killed during a cult clash in the capital city of Benue.

Tervishima Simon Peter, It was gathered that the tragic incident took place on Monday.

A student who wants to remain anonymous told Nigerian Tribune that some cult members engaged themselves in free for all at Gyado villa, adding that a student identified as Terviiahima Simon Peter was cut in the crossfire.

Before the latest incident, two students were killed in the area two weeks ago, the area which is populated with students has been a haven for cult-related activities.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene said that a student of the State University was killed in a cult clash at Gyado villa in Makurdi around 1950 hours of Monday.

“Someone identified as Tervishima Simon Peter, a final year Sociology student of Benue State University, died in the clash.

Recall that Gistreel reported earlier that Ilaro Polytechnic suspends SUG President arrested during cult, Adegboye Emmanuel Olatunji, was nabbed alongside another member of the Aiye (Black Axe) Cult, Olarewaju Taiwo, during the initiation of new members into the dreaded cult after members of the public alerted the police.

Reacting to the arrest on Monday, February 10, the institution’s Deputy Registrar Public Relations, Sola Abiola, announced that the arrested SUG President had been suspended indefinitely over his alleged involvement in cultism.

Sola said;
“The suspension of Mr. Adegboye is in line with the Act establishing the Polytechnic and the provision of the Students Handbook coupled with the Polytechnic’s zero tolerance to cultism, pending his appearance before the Students Disciplinary Committee to establish his culpability or otherwise.
